Ride 100 km exclusively along scenic Greenways. Discover the old Jewish Quartier of Girona, the best conserved in Europe. Incredible different landscapes such as Pyrenees and the Costa Brava, in the Mediterranean. Meet local nice and friendly people. The first section of the Greenway allows you to discover the natural resources of La Garrotxa, such as the volcanic area or the quiet and lovely areas related to the rivers Brugent and Ter. On your way to Girona you’ll pass through the towns of Sant Feliu de Pallerols or la Cellera de Ter, all of them with interesting heritage related to their rivers. In Girona city there is plenty to do and see, such as visiting the Cathedral or the ancient Jewish Quarter, one of the best preserved in the world. The second section of the greenway takes you to the coast, reaching the Mediterranean Sea. The ride is easy and fun and you’ll be passing through cropland and forests. On clear days you can enjoy an extraordinary view of the Pyrenees. The last part of the route crosses the valley of Ridaura and runs gently down to the seaside town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, where you can relax and enjoy the rest of the day at the beach. Go shopping at the comercial city centre or well-known Rambla of Girona. You’ll have lovely weather all year round, which gives you the chance to swim in the Mediterranean Sea on the last day. The ride is easy and fun and you’ll be passing through cropland and forests. On clear days you can enjoy an extraordinary views of the Pyrenees. Stage 1: Olot – Girona. We’ll meet you at our office in Girona, fit your bike, and transfer you to the starting point of the route in Olot. From there, you’ll follow a scenic route from Olot to Girona along the Brugent River valley, tracing the path of the former railway line known as “El Carrilet.” The landscape along this route is truly enchanting, offering a rich variety of natural features—from majestic mountains and rolling hills to serene oak and beech forests. You’ll also pass through the remarkable volcanic area of La Garrotxa, known for its unique and striking scenery. Once you arrive in Girona, take time to explore this captivating historical city. Visit the magnificent Cathedral, which boasts the widest single nave of Gothic architecture in the world. Wander through the narrow, winding streets of the ancient Jewish Quarter, one of the best-preserved in Europe. We also recommend a leisurely stroll along the Rambla or atop the medieval walls, where you’ll enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the city and its picturesque surroundings. Stage 2: Girona – Sant Feliu de Guíxols. This scenic route takes you all the way to the Mediterranean Sea, following a stretch of the El Carrilet Greenway and passing through the charming towns of Quart, Cassà de la Selva, Llagostera, and Santa Cristina d’Aro. Just outside Girona, the path runs alongside the Onyar River, offering one of the city’s most iconic and photographed views—the colorful houses overlooking the river. As you ride, the Gavarres Massif serves as a beautiful backdrop: a forested mountain range, rich in oaks and historically significant for cork production. The route ends at the seaside town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, right on the shores of the Mediterranean. At the end of the day, we’ll meet you in Sant Feliu de Guíxols and bring you back to Girona.
