Overview

2 days cycling on the greenways of Girona from Olot to Sant Feliu de Guíxols with 1 night in Girona city. Easy cycling, suitable for everyone. Two optional sections along the Greenways: Olot - NGirona (57Km) or Girona - Sant Feliu de Guíxols (44Km). Choose between different landscapes, such as the Pyrenees or the Costa Brava, at the Mediterranean Sea. Option 1 takes you through the area north of Girona, offering the chance to explore the natural beauty of La Garrotxa, including its famous volcanic landscapes and the peaceful, picturesque areas surrounding the Brugent and Ter rivers. Option 2 takes you from Girona to the stunning Mediterranean coast. This easy and enjoyable ride leads you through a mix of cropland and forest, offering a refreshing variety of landscapes. On clear days, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the Pyrenees. The final stretch of the route crosses the Ridaura Valley and gently descends to the charming seaside town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, where you can unwind and spend the rest of the day relaxing at the beach. Make a stop in some of the ancient railway stations renwed as cafes and restaurants. If you have the time, visit one of the varied museums of the city you’ll pas through: you’ll find the one for you! Option 1: Olot – Girona. We’ll meet you at our office in Girona, fit your bike, and transfer you to the starting point of the route in Olot. From there, you’ll follow a scenic route from Olot to Girona along the Brugent River valley, tracing the path of the former railway line known as “El Carrilet.” The landscape along this route is truly enchanting, offering a rich variety of natural features—from majestic mountains and rolling hills to serene oak and beech forests. You’ll also pass through the remarkable volcanic area of La Garrotxa, known for its unique and striking scenery. Once you arrive in Girona, take time to explore this captivating historical city. Visit the magnificent Cathedral, which boasts the widest single nave of Gothic architecture in the world. Wander through the narrow, winding streets of the ancient Jewish Quarter, one of the best-preserved in Europe. We also recommend a leisurely stroll along the Rambla or atop the medieval walls, where you’ll enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the city and its picturesque surroundings. Option 2: Girona – Sant Feliu de Guíxols. We’ll meet you at our office in Girona, fit your bike, and get you ready to start your ride. This scenic route takes you all the way to the Mediterranean Sea, following a stretch of the El Carrilet Greenway and passing through the charming towns of Quart, Cassà de la Selva, Llagostera, and Santa Cristina d’Aro. Just outside Girona, the path runs alongside the Onyar River, offering one of the city’s most iconic and photographed views—the colorful houses overlooking the river. As you ride, the Gavarres Massif serves as a beautiful backdrop: a forested mountain range, rich in oaks and historically significant for cork production. The route ends at the seaside town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, right on the shores of the Mediterranean. At the end of the day, we’ll meet you in Sant Feliu de Guíxols and bring you back to Girona. Ride with GPS app with tracks and maps. General tourist information of the area. 1 day touring bike rental. Option A: Transfer from Girona to Olot.
