From splendid Siena to the unique Elba Island, the Tuscany Hills and Sea Road Bike Tour is a perfect way to soak up the world-class scenery of Tuscany, one of Italy’s most desirable regions. With rides taking you up and down, between the hills and the sea, you’ll experience the views while also adventuring. A road bike is a privileged viewpoint to appreciate the inimitable variety of landscapes from, and with your wheels to take you everywhere, you can discover hidden villages full of history and acres of unspoiled nature. Each night, you’ll enjoy carefully chosen characteristic accommodation and delicious dinners in restaurants serving local dishes and the wines of the best vineyards. With a guide and a minibus always at hand, the intermediate cyclist and better can take the adventure of a lifetime from the hills to the sea of Tuscany. Day 1: Arrival in Siena. Welcome drink, bike fitting, and dinner with the group. Day 2: Bike to Chianti Loop (72km) through rolling hills surrounded by vineyards. Day 3: Bike to Volterra (78km) crossing small hillside villages and enjoying views of castles. Day 4: Bike to Castagneto Carducci (80km) through historical villages on the Etruscan Coast. Day 5: Transfer to Elba Island and Bike Ride to Procchio (60.6km), exploring beaches, cliffs, and villages. Day 6: Ride to the Hills and Villages of West Elba (61.4km), visiting ancient hamlets and famous beaches. Day 7: Departure from Siena. This guided road biking tour in Tuscany is run as a fixed-departure tour where you’d be joining a group, however, custom private tours can be organized for those willing to travel with their group only (please contact us with your preferred date and the number of people in your group and we will create the itinerary just for you). 6 breakfasts and 6 dinners are included. Accommodations for 6 nights are included. Transportation for this tour will include a minibus, both for the transport of your luggage and for any type of assistance that may be required, and the presence of a technical guide cycling alongside you. Minibus assistance, taxes, technical bike guide and assistance, technical bike shirt, station and hotel transfers, and return ferry to Elba Island are also included. Hotels on this trip are 4 and 5-star and offer modern conveniences that can make this trip more pleasant. Rooms may have fireplaces or access to amenities such as hot tubs, steam rooms, or private decks to lounge on. In some cases, the accommodation listed below may need to be substituted for other comparable accommodations. Rooms are double occupancy. You can pay a supplement of $450 to have a private room in a hotel where possible (please enquire about the pricing). Solo travellers may be required to pay a supplement. We're Canadian.
