The tour is perfect for those who want to combine slow-hiking with relaxing moments at the beach. This route starts in Sant Feliu de Guíxols and ends in Torroella de Montgrí. It partly follows the “camí de ronda”, a coastal path, which allows you to enjoy the incredible coastal landscapes of the Costa Brava region. A coast that will surprise most of the visitors, as you pass through old fishermen's towns such as Calella de Palafrugell or Llafranc, or charming medieval villages like Pals, more inland. Far away from the crowded places related to this area, the region that you’ll be walking has plenty of unknown places as well as absolutely beautiful unspoilt coves such as Cala Castell, near Palafrugell. This tour will sure provide some precious happy moments, such as drinking coffee just in front of the sea, or having dinner in some of the best restaurants of the region. Recommended minimum age: 5–6 years old. Relax and swim in one of the outstanding little coves that you’ll find on your way. Have dinner in one of the restaurants in front of the seaside with fresh seafood. Visit medieval villages like Pals, or ancient fisherman villages like Calella or Llafranc. Arrival day: Once you arrive, you can go straight to your hotel, which is right by the beautiful Sant Pol beach, and check in. After settling in, take a stroll around the old fishing port and treat yourself to a tasty seafood dinner at one of the many great local restaurants. Stage 1: Sant Pol – Palamós (La Fosca). Your tour begins with a welcome meeting at your hotel, where we’ll go over the routes and key details. Distance: 17 km | Elevation Gain: 229 m Elevation. Today’s walk takes you along the stunning coastline to Palamós. The route passes through the seaside village of Platja d’Aro and follows the shoreline of the Bay of Palamós, known for its bustling fishing port and mouthwatering seafood, especially its renowned prawns. Your day ends near the beautiful Cala de la Fosca beach, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim just steps from your hotel. Stage 2: Palamós (La Fosca) - Calella de Palafrugell. Today’s route takes you through the charming cove of Castell and around the wooded headland of Cap Roig (130 m), offering excellent panoramic views along the way. You’ll spend the night in the picturesque former fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, where you can enjoy magnificent views over the town and coastline. Stage 3: Calella de Palafrugell – Begur. The trail heads north, closely following the coastline and ascending toward the Begur Massif (220 m), where the picturesque town of Begur and its medieval castle await. The day begins with a steady climb, leading to El Far, a charming restaurant in the old lighthouse—an ideal spot to enjoy a coffee while taking in the sweeping views. The route then continues along the coast before rising again to reach the historic hilltop town of Begur. Stage 4: Begur - Peratallada. Descend into the gentle countryside, passing through a series of picturesque medieval villages. One of the highlights is Pals, a true gem with its impressive town walls, the iconic Hours Tower, and the 13th-century Church of Sant Pere. Once on the plain, the route continues through Sant Feliu de Boada before reaching Peratallada, where lodging is arranged in a charming guest house. The village’s ancient atmosphere invites a leisurely stroll through its narrow, stone-paved streets and timeless architecture. Stage 5: Peratallada – Torroella de Montgrí. Today’s route leads through the charming medieval villages of Palau-sator, Fontanilles, and Gualta. The terrain is mostly flat, making for a pleasant and easy walk through the tranquil countryside. The day ends in Torroella de Montgrí, a town dominated by the striking silhouette of Montgrí Castle perched on a rounded hill. The castle and the surrounding scenery make for a memorable finish. Stage 6: Torroella - Montgrí Massif. This circular route explores some of the most remarkable landscapes of the Montgrí Massif. The trail ascends to the striking Montgrí Castle, perched at 200 meters, offering a breathtaking 360º panorama of the entire Empordà region. From the summit, the path descends into a peaceful valley, where the charming church of Santa Caterina awaits. The route then loops back to Torroella, completing a scenic and rewarding hike.
