Why Ride Costa Blanca

Warm-weather mainland winter training region built around Calpe, Jalón valley circuits, and short-to-medium inland climbs with full year-round road access.

Terrain & Riding Structure

Warm-up, recovery, and access terrain: Flat to gently rolling coastal roads with high vehicle and tourist traffic
Core structured winter training circuits: Primary training zone with quiet secondary roads and repeated short-to-medium climbs
Tempo and medium-climb days: Mid-altitude plateau terrain with low traffic and steady medium-gradient climbing
Harder varied circuits with more technical climbing: Steeper and more technical limestone sierra terrain with some gravel near the top
Recovery days and lower-intensity mixed-ability riding: Rolling coastal terrain with short punchy climbs and lower elevation output

Cycling Bases

Calpe

Primary training camp base for the Costa Blanca. Compact coastal town with immediate access to the Calpe–Altea–Benissa climb circuit. Most developed cycling infrastructure in the region.

Benissa

Inland plateau town at approximately 300 m. Positioned between the coast and the Jalón valley, providing efficient access to both coastal climbs and interior ridge roads.
